Each year, we're proud to support our local high school graduates by providing bursaries to students within our community.
New for the 2025-2026 school year, we will be granting 4 bursaries of $5,000 each to successful graduates of Kootenay River Secondary School in Creston, BC.
These bursaries are presented to students who plan to attend a technology, university, college or vocational school.
BURSARY REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible for a CDCU bursary, you must:
- Fulfill graduation requirements through KRSS (Kootenay River Secondary School - Creston), and be proceeding to a recognized post-secondary institution leading to a degree or diploma
- Attend the institution within one year of being awarded a bursary
Note: The candidate may defer the bursary for one year with written approval.
PREFERENTIAL CRITERIA
Preference will be given to candidates that:
- Demonstrate a financial need
- Are a member of Creston & District Credit Union
BURSARY PROCEDURE
Applications are done through KRSS (Kootenay River Secondary School - Creston) prior to graduation. Applications are reviewed by the Educational Bursaries Committee at CDCU for final selections.
To receive the award, the successful candidates must send a letter to CDCU with proof of registration along with their social insurance number, date of birth, phone number and mailing address.
Note: One-half of the bursary will be given upon proof of first semester registration ($2,500), with the balance given on proof of second semester registration($2,500).

The Credit Union Foundation of BC was established by BC credit unions in 1958 to support our members in their journey through post-secondary education.
