Student bursaries

Each year, we're proud to support our high school graduates by providing two $2,500 bursaries to students within our community. 

These bursaries are presented to students who plan to attend a technology, university, college or vocational school.

BURSARY REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible for a CDCU bursary, you must:

  • Fulfill graduation requirements and be proceeding to a recognized post-secondary institution
  • Attend the institution within one year of graduation 

Note: The candidate may defer the bursary for one year with written approval.

PREFERENTIAL CRITERIA

Preference may be given to candidates that:

  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Are CDCU members (where equal candidates are being considered)
  • Are family of employees and/or directors of CDCU

BURSARY PROCEDURE

To receive the award, the successful candidate must send a letter to CDCU with proof of registration along with their social insurance number, date of birth, phone number and mailing address. This is done through Kootenay River Secondary School prior to graduation.

Note: One-half of the bursary will be given upon proof of first semester registration, with the balance given on proof of second semester registration.
