At Creston & District Credit Union, we encourage youthful savings, since saving and spending patterns are often established early in life. Plan 24

The original daily interest savings account, Plan 24 was introduced by credit unions in 1967. Your money goes to work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Benefits include:

• No minimum balance requirement
• Interest calculated on the closing daily balance
• Interest paid monthly
• ATM withdrawals permitted at regular transaction fees
• One free withdrawal permitted for a minimum monthly balance of $500.00 or multiple thereof i.e. $1,000, $1,500 etc.
• Free Member Card
• In-branch withdrawals - $1.25 each

Plan 24 accounts were designed as regular savings vehicles for a dedicated investment program and for those who don't want to be tempted by chequing privileges. It can also be an ideal account for people with large deposit balances, which turn over on a short-term basis, and for people who want to segregate funds.

Fat Cat Account

Designed for children and pre-teens under the age of thirteen in order to encourage them to save for the future and to understand the value of thrift. Fat Cats enjoy the following benefits:

• Daily interest, paid monthly
• No charge for in-branch withdrawals
• Promotional item provided at time account opened
• Free Member Card
• No charge for withdrawals made at most automated teller machines (ATMs)

For parents and relatives, Fat Cat Accounts make excellent Christmas stocking stuffers or birthday gifts.

Youth Accounts

Established for teenagers aged 13 up to 19, the Youth Account provides an opportunity to continue savings habits learned in childhood. Benefits include:

• Daily interest, paid monthly
• No charge for in-branch withdrawals
• Free Member Card
• No charge for withdrawals made at most ATMs

The Youth Account is a great place to stash funds earned from a part-time job, paper route etc and to save toward post-secondary education.

Golden Plan 24 Account

Exclusive for members sixty years of age or better, in recognition of their contributions to the community and the credit union, Golden Accounts are designed to meet the unique needs of seniors at, or near, retirement. Benefits:

• No minimum balance requirement
• Interest calculated on closing daily balance
• Interest paid monthly
• Free Member Card
• Free withdrawals at credit union ATMs
• Free in branch withdrawals

Unless members have a very high volume of transactions, most services used by seniors are absolutely free.
